Cure Sweaty Palms


Palm sweating is medically referred to as Palmar Hyperhidrosis. Sweaty palms start appearing during the childhood and continues until puberty or in some cases, till adulthood. Hyperactivity of the sympathetic nervous system is said to be the most prominent cause of this problem. An individual may usually experience sweaty palms in states of anger, nervousness or any other stressful circumstances.

In certain cases, it may stop naturally. But if it does not, the person may then have to undergo a series of therapies to cure sweaty palms. This issue do not cause any problems to the normal functioning of an individual’s hands. However, in certain cases, individuals may experience excessive sweat dripping from their palms and this may indeed lead to a very embarrassing situation.

The root cause of this problem is said to be the improper functioning of the nervous system. Symptoms of sweaty palms may be experienced when the person is angry, nervous or is facing some stressful situations. Some individuals may also experience palm sweating if they are scared or suffer from anxiety.

Symptoms:

It is not that difficult to notice the symptoms of excessive sweating. Individuals may initially witness sweat accumulating in their palms. And as soon as they wipe their palms, they may notice a new set of sweat beads forming in their palms. This may also result in discoloration of the palms such as the palms may get pinkish or reddish. Discoloration is mainly caused due to the presence of sodium, minerals and other forms of solute present in the sweat.

Basic solution to cure sweaty palms:

Excessive perspiration of palms can be soaked by making use of cornstarch or talcum powders. Apply them properly all over the palm including the spaces between the fingers.

Dietary Measures:

Avoid foodstuffs containing caffeine, as they are known to speed up the rate of metabolism inside the body, which in turn, may result in sweaty palms. It is recommended that a person suffering from the problem of sweaty palms includes fish oil in his/her diet, as it decelerates the process of digestion and therefore, helps to cure sweaty palms.

It will cause your nervous system to fast. If you want to slowdown your metabolism, start eating more fat. For instance, fish oil slows down the digestive process and in turn your metabolism.

Medications:

Most of the times, medications may prove to be very helpful in case of sweaty palms. Generally, medicines, which are used to cure sweaty palms consist of anticholinergics, sedatives and beta-blockers. These medicines may cause side effects such as dry mouth, urinary retention and blurred vision.. Also, it is strictly advised that these medicines should be taken only under the guidance of a reputed physician.

If stress is the factor responsible for causing palm sweating, Benzodiazepines such as valium may prove to be very helpful.
