Other Ways To Stop Armpit Sweating
Aluminum Chloride
Apply Aluminum chloride to the excessive sweating areas by an applicator. Dry out the sweating area completely and then apply the solution. Apply it once a day before going to sleep and wash it off the next morning. Continue this for a week or as needed. You will see reduction in sweat levels after a week. For improved effect, apply a thin plastic coating over the area. Avoid coating the area, if it irritates the skin.

Using antiperspirant may not be beneficial for every person. Some people may need other specialized treatment to stop armpit sweating. These treatments include Iontophoresis, Botox injections, Oral drugs and Sympathectomy treatments.
Botox treatment
Botox treatment is largely followed because of its efficiency. It needs to be done a couple of times in a year. The injections are given at the excess sweating areas on the body. The injected solution blocks the production of those chemicals that stimulate the sweat glands to generate excessive sweat. The results are quick and can be noticed within two days. The follow-up treatment for Axillary Hyperhidrosis is to be taken in 6 months from the first injection. The follow-up also depends on the effects of first injection.

Iontophoresis
In this method, the excessive sweating areas are kept under tap water. A mild electric current is passed through these areas. This paralyzes the sweat glands and stops them from sweating. You may see results in a week’s time. Next, a follow up treatment can be taken in 6 months period.
Sympathectomy treatment
Excess sweating can also be caused by hyperactivity of sympathetic nerves, which are situated in the chest cavity. To stop these sympathetic nerves from sweating excessively, they are interrupted using a surgical treatment and that process is known as Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS). These sympathetic nerves are interrupted by clamping, resecting (removing) or even cutting the sweat glands.
Since past few years, a relatively new treatment called “Suction Curettage” is being practiced worldwide. Curettage is a surgery, which removes unwanted tissues from the body cavity. With the help of this surgery, 90% to 95% of the excess sweat glands (Apocrine Glands) are removed. This dramatically reduces the amount of sweating. Highlighted benefits of this treatment are small cuts in skin and easy as well as fast recovery.
A surgery is the last option, if regular medicines are not helping you to stop armpit sweating. The intensity of sweating varies from person to person. Some people may sweat moderately while some may sweat uncontrollable.
If you sweat uncontrollably, then always keep spare clothes with you, as before going for a meeting or a function, you can change the sweaty clothes with fresh ones while out. Follow proper hygiene and regularly along with possible treatments to keep excessive armpit sweating under control.
